Introducing the nolitto3d Wild Stallion Classic Chess Pieces - 4.5" King
3MF 3D Model Digital Files so you can print these beautiful chess pieces.

Original Chess Pieces designed to be printed with minimal supports, in fact, all the 3D printed chess pieces shown were printed without supports except for the Knight.
The pieces feature elegant lines, large bases for weights, 4.5" King, magnificent Knight.
No glue is required for the weights. We've found weights can become unstuck/loose when glue is used to hold them in.
See photos below showing how the pieces can be easily weighted with nuts and bolts.

Above mid-section screenshot shows the space to add weight to each of the pieces. The King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook are designed to be weighted with 2 X M12 Nuts secured with a M8 35mm Bolt.
The pawns are designed to be weighted with 2 X M10 Nuts secured with a M6 35mm Bolt.
You could also use metal washers to add weight.

3D Printer Slicer Settings

Above screenshot shows the printer settings we used in Ultimaker Cura for your reference:

Layer Height - 0.2mm
Wall Line Count - 3
20% Infill Density
Infill Pattern - Cubic

Of course you may change these settings to your preference and/or to suit your particular 3D Printer.
You could also use a higher Infill Density for a heavier piece, for example, the King weighs approximately 71g  at 20% Infill Density with the bolt and nuts installed .

We only needed to print the Knight with supports for the muzzle and mane as shown.
All the other Chess Pieces were printed without supports.

Adding weight to the pieces

The Pawns can be weighted with 2 X M10 Nuts secured with a 35mm M6 Bolt. You would need a M6 Tap bit to cut the threads for the 35mm M6 Bolt.

Make sure you screw the M6 nut all the way in nice and tight, then finish off by adding the felt to the base. The beauty of this design is that you don't need to glue the weight/nuts. We've experienced the weights coming loose in other sets where glue has been used.

The King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook can be weighted with 2 X M12 Nuts secured with a 35mm M8 Bolt. Below we demonstrate how to weight the Rook. You would need a M8 Tap bit to cut the threads for the 35mm M8 bolt:

Make sure the nuts are fastened tightly with the M8 bolt and then add the felt to the base.
